Definitely a December to Remember.
It started out slow with a spontaneous trip to Vancouver for an early Christmas celebration. After seeing the Museum of Anthropology, visiting an old friend, touring around the German Christmas market on the waterfront and drinking some lovely drinks at the lucious Botanist bar, we headed home to set up our Christmas tree.
On December 6th, St. Mikolas visited and the shoes we’d set out reaped some chocolates and sticks, representative of the past year. We hung up szuloncukor and spent some time with friends before I headed down to Portland to meet up with family.
We started in Buenos Aires, kicked around Patagonia for a bit and then took the incredible journey across the Drake Passage to Antarctica.
Yes, you read that right.
This December, I spent my Christmas surrounded by family, new friends, penguins and glacial ice. From polar plunging to stepping on the continent, I was able to cut down my bucket list and make some incredible new connections. It will forever be difficult to top this Christmas and considering that 2018 is going out with a bang… I can’t wait to see what 2019 holds.
